Mineral Foundation

So I wanted to do a quick blog about the mineral foundation that I use. So before I apply any foundation you want to use a primer. Well not everyone can go out and blow $30+ on a name brand. I actually use Monistat Soothing Care Powder Gel. Now I know that sounds odd, but I believe I got the tip somewhere on youtube, and it works. It feels very powdering going on and provides a smooth canvas for the foundation. And at about $7 it's a big save!

For the foundation I use BFTE Medium, Translucent Veil and sometimes I'll use the Yellow Angel Veil. Here's a quick before and after.

It really evens you out and it's a great price!

Also, here is an E/S look I created with all BFTE shadows. Let me know what you guys think?

08/13 EOTD

I know it's been a little while since I last posted. Things have been hectic in my house, including getting my daughter ready for Kindergarten! She's so excited

So until I get a chance to put up another tutorial here is my EOTD. It kind of reminds me of the dawn light on a green green grass. Hmmm...I dunno what better to call it, lol. So here it is!

  • Sugarpill - Midori
  • Sugarpill - Goldilux
  • Cargo Color Palette - Color B
  • Revlon Colorstay Liner - Black
  • Dior Iconic Overcurl - Black
  • Nyx Lipgloss - Sorbet

Gold/Blue Evening

Hiya folks! So the look I've created today is a real nice smokey eye. I would probably say most people would wear this for dates or a night on the town. I'd wear this all day any day. That's the kinda crazy girl I am, lol! So lets get on with it!

First you want to prime your eye to keep the shadow from creasing. I use Too Faced Shadow Insurance. Dab a little on your finger and spread over the eye up to your brows and a little under the eye along the lash line.

Then you want to apply MAC Goldmine on the inner corner and about 3/4 of the way on the lid. I used a E.L.F. eyeshadow brush I picked up at a sale (Yay thrifty shopping!). I also applied a little in the inner corner and about 1/4 of the way on the bottom lash.

Next you want to use a blending brush (I used MAC 217) to apply your dark blue. For this I used BFTE Cosmetics in Spellbound. Such a great brand! Apply it to the rest of the bottom lashes. I used MAC 212 brush to help get a better line without much fallout.

Then in the crease apply a black (MAC Carbon) using the same blending brush, just using a tighter C motion.

After that just highlight using shade of your choice. I used MAC Vanilla. Finish the rest of your face with your normal routine and voila! A great evening look! Here's a list of the rest of the products I used:
  • Revlon ColorStay Liquid Liner in Blackest Black
  • Rimmel Soft Kohl Eyeline Pencil in Jet Black
  • Dior Diorshow Iconic Overcurl in 90/Black
  • MAC Lipglass in Strange Potion
  • MAC Minerlize Skinfinish in Rio
  • MAC Mineralize Blush in Exotic Ember

I didn't put on any foundation for these pictures. I wanted it to be very warm like I had a flush or a subtle tan without looking forced. So I gently sweeped Rio over my whole face and Exotic Ember is the perfect blush to add the tan look. I wasn't sure how I would like an orange/brown blush, but it's actually a very flattering shade.

So there you go, hope you all enjoyed! Hopefully soon I'll be able to get a better camera so the pictures are clearer. These came from my cellphone :/
